Projects:

Air Passenger Survey at LAX and Ontario Airports
Under subcontract to MSI International, AMPG assisted in the design and implementation of 6,000 air passenger surveys using hand-held Newton computers. The purpose of the survey effort was to gain a general understanding of trends and behavioral and demographic profiles of air passengers using LAX and Ontario. The data will be used in passenger facility and ground access planning. AMPG assisted in the design of survey instruments, training of interviewers, and geocoding of address information.

Air Passenger Survey at LAX and Ontario Airports
AMPG assisted in the design and implementation of 6,000 air passenger surveys using hand-held Newton computers in 2001. The purpose of the survey effort was to gain a general understanding of trends and behavioral and demographic profiles of air passengers using LAX and Ontario. AMPG assisted in the design of the survey instruments, training of interviewers, and geocoding of address information.

In 2003, AMPG was contracted to analyze the 2001 survey data for LAX and ONT airports. The 2001 data were analyzed independently and also compared to 1993 findings. LAX and ONT Final Reports, which contained comparative tables, charts, and maps, were prepared and submitted to LAWA.

International Airport Passenger Survey 2003
Under sub-contact to PA Consulting, AMPG conducted two intercept surveys of passengers at the Ontario International Airport (ONT)- during the non-peak travel season and the peak season. The goal of the research was to measure passengers’ use of ONT as well as to gather general demographic data. Specifically, the survey was designed to identify how often passengers use ONT and the factors that influence their choice of airport. Once the survey data were collected, AMPG cleaned, weighted, and analyzed the data for peak and non-peak travel times, as well as the total on an annual basis.
