Data Collection System We were contracted by the Division of Adult and Career Education to design and implement a data collection system among all adult schools within the Los Angeles Unified School District that provide ESL education for parents and other tutors of California school children. The purpose of the data collection system was to provide DACE with information on the following: 1) the number of participants in the program, including demographic profiles; 2) instructional hours and services provided; and, 3) participant satisfaction. We disseminated the data collection kits to all program directors, provided technical assistance, collected and synthesized the data, and documented the results in a final report.

LEARN Parent Involvement Project Under subcontract to the Evaluation and Training Institute, we conducted data analyses of an annual survey of LEARN- school parents to evaluate the effectiveness of the LEARN Parent Involvement Project. The LEARN Parent Involvement Project utilized DACE’s Parenting and Family Life Education certificated staff to facilitate ongoing parent involvement in LEARN schools. The evaluation was designed to provide feedback on the Parent Involvement Project for use in refining the training in future years.
