Los Angeles County Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Focus Groups and Strategic Plan Deve
In an effort to assist MCAH in updating its five-year strategic plan, AMPG was hired to conduct a series of focus groups with parents who receive services from county programs and those who are potential clients of MCAH’s many health service orientated facilities. The purpose of the focus groups were to solicit feedback from clients and potential clients regarding the strengths of the current program, to identify areas for improvement and to solicit feedback from clients and potential clients regarding culturally appropriate strategies for implementing change. A series of eleven focus groups were conducted in either English or Spanish focusing on heath issues such as asthma, obesity in children, pre- and post-natal infant care, pre- and post-natal support services and challenges adolescents face such as drug abuse, peer pressure, violence and stress.
